DESIGNATED INSTRUCTION SERVICES

VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

Our program operates during the school year from September to June serving transition students age eighteen through age twenty-one from throughout Stanislaus County who are enrolled in the City Wise Transition Class at McHenry Village in Modesto and in SCOE's Inclusion Program at Riverbank High School serving Oakdale, Riverbank, Empire, and Waterford high school special needs students.  We provide a broad range of community-based services designed to develop basic job skills consistent with each student's ability and to maximize the full potential of each student for employment and community participation.  We also provide support to the functional skills curriculum of community-based programming.

Students enrolled in our program typically work at jobs in the community, either individually or in groups, under the supervision of a "job coach."  Areas of instruction closely follow California Career and Technical Education Foundation Standards which target basic job skills and may include specific Industry Sector and Pathway Standards to address specific job skills.
