Curriculum and Project Directors

The Curriculum and Projects Directors' CPD Meeting

The Curriculum and Projects Directors’ (CPD) Meeting is held monthly at the Stanislaus County Office of Education.  Districts are welcome to send district or site representatives, and many districts send more than one person to the meetings.  County personnel share information they have gleaned from state-wide meetings, and district and school site personnel share promising practices and their local responses to state or county issues.   Periodically, collaboratives are formed between interested districts and the county to address grant opportunities, share professional development, or pursue common goals.  Most often, these meetings take place at the 1100 H Street, Modesto site, usually on Fridays from 8:30-11 AM.  Please see this link for this year’s meeting dates.

A new addition to the CPD work is a professional book talk conducted at the county office prior to the scheduled CPD meeting.  Interested site, district, and county personnel choose an educational publication of mutual interest, and read and discuss it throughout the year.  The 2003-04 school year, the group tackled Evaluating Professional Development by Dr. Thomas Guskey, and for 2004-05, the group read Michael Fullan’s Leadership in a Culture of Change.
