The Outdoor Education Foundation of Stanislaus County

In common with the economy, the cost of the Outdoor Education program at Foothill
Horizons has risen and financial help is needed to provide reduced costs for
all students. To assist with the solution to this problem, the Stanislaus County
Superintendent of Schools has established the Stanislaus County Outdoor Education
Foundation.

The Foundation receives donations from students, parents, teachers, community
organizations, corporations, and governmental agencies. The money received from
these donations is placed in the Foundation and the interest obtained is used to reduce
Outdoor Education costs.

Advisory and corporate committees have been appointed to help reach the Foundation
goal of 1.5 million dollars, from which $150,000 in interest could be gained annually to
reduce the cost to students. As we proceed towards this goal, the following will become
reality:

* decreased cost of the Foothill Horizons program

* fewer children will be denied the educational opportunities
of Outdoor School, and the number of students that attend
   Foothill Horizons will increase

* guaranteed continuance of the Outdoor Education program

* a decrease in the need for local fund raising activities

* a decrease in time spent by school personnel in raising funds

You can help children in Stanislaus County experience Outdoor Education by
contributing to the Stanislaus County Outdoor Education Foundation. All contributions
are tax exempt. Checks may be written to:
