Fact Sheet

Why were we formed?
Established by legislation in 1997 (AB1542), Child Care and Development Planning Councils meet to provide a forum for the identification of local priorities for child care and the development of policies to meet the needs identified within those priorities.  Child Care and Development Planning Councils are located in each county throughout California.

Who are we?
The Stanislaus Child Care and Development Planning Council consists of twenty-six community members who are interested in all matters concerning child care issues.  In a joint effort both the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors and the Stanislaus County Superintendent of Schools make appointments to the Stanislaus Child Care and Development Planning Council.  Members represent child care providers, consumers, public agencies, and interested persons from the community.
