Having good attendance paid off for students in May, as “Prize Troopers” visited schools throughout the county to reward students for good attendance.  A 2007 Pontiac G6 was the grand prize of a two-day giveaway ending the second year of the Stanislaus County Office of Education's "Every Day Counts" campaign to improve student attendance.   
 

Student Success Begins with Attendance. Research is clear - students who attend school regularly do better academically and are more likely to establish work habits that help them succeed in life and work.

  • When students miss a day of school it actually puts them two days behind their classmates.
  • Students who are absent an average of 15 days a year miss a year's worth of school before their senior year.
