Prevention Programs
Graduate Empowerment ProjectThe Graduation Empowerment Project of Stanislaus County is committed to increasing graduation rates among high school students. The collaborative represents individuals from city and county government, district level staff, school board members, business community, higher education, and high school students. The efforts are structured around resiliency research by Bonnie Bernard and are committed to providing opportunities, resources, and support to our schools.
Research shows that regardless of circumstance students will succeed if they are provided three protective factors: caring relationships, high expectations, and opportunities to participate. When students are provided with the three protective factors the needs of our youth are met and the ability to create positive outcomes in their lives becomes a greater possibility.
