Friend to Friend Peer Helpers Conference

Every year over 500 junior high and high school students from a five county region (Stanislaus, San Joaquin, Tuolumne, Amador and Calaveras) attend the Friend to Friend Peer Helpers Conference at the Modesto Centre Plaza. These students along with their teachers, counselors and advisors participate in this conference where they learn about leadership, mentoring and network. Two breakout sessions are offered on such topics as Anti-Bullying, Asset Development Through Service Learning, Gang Trends, and Binge Drinking. Each peer counselor takes the skills they have learned back to their school.
