The Alternative Education Department provides Stanislaus County with Court/Community School programs utilizing curriculum aligned with state frameworks and performance standards.

Students enrolled in this program have the opportunity to succeed in an educational environment which focuses on their individual responsibility to make wise choices.  Students can choose to return to their school of residence or continue their enrollment at our schools and receive their high school diploma upon successful completion of all requirements.

With the exception of Juvenile Hall, all students entering the program do so because:

1.     Expulsion from a regular public school;
2.     SARB referral or an agreement between the school and family;
3.     Ordered by judge or probation officer; and/or,
4.     Homeless.
5.     Parent Request.

The following programs under the direction of Bob Dittman, Division Director, provide a wide range of services to Stanislaus County.
