Welcome to Prevention Programs
"The mission of the Stanislaus County Office of Education's (SCOE) Prevention Programs Department is to provide comprehensive, quality programs and resources to school districts in Stanislaus and surrounding counties. We're working in collaboration with educational and community-based organizations to keep all kids first."
Prevention Programs enhances the lives of thousands of students every school day and its impact extends far beyond the classroom. The department oversees after school programs, Healthy Start, school readiness and emergency management services, school and community violence prevention programs, service learning and civic engagement opportunities, tobacco prevention and even a youth leadership group. Prevention Programs is a leader statewide in providing the information and resources youth need to make healthy lifestyle choices.
The Career Inspiration Center focuses on four main career pathways—Technology, Health, Agriculture, and Manufacturing. It offers hands-on learning experiences that help students learn and become more aware of these career options.
FOCUS supports children exposed to violence and trauma through improved communication and collaboration between first responders (law enforcement, fire fighters, emergency medical responders, etc), schools and community resources.
Foster Youth Services Coordinating Program (FYSCP) provide support services to foster children who suffer the traumatic effects of displacement from family and schools and multiple placements in foster care. Click to learn more.
Located on or near school sites, Healthy Start Family Resource Centers are hubs within the community that provide family-centered programs, resources and links to services in support of families with children aged 0-5 in Stanislaus County. Click to learn more.

Leadership Academy is an innovative program designed to develop the leadership potential of high school juniors and seniors in Stanislaus County. The program brings together youth and public and private organizations to discuss and explore leadership in unique and innovative ways.
