North Valley Collaborative (NVC)

The SCOE Induction Program makes it a priority to articulate with preliminary teacher preparation programs and P-12 organizations. One of the major ways this is accomplished is through routine North Valley Collaborative (NVC) meetings that are hosted at the Stanislaus County Office of Education. As the teacher preparation and induction programs have moved to meet the requirements of both the 2042 and SB1209 legislation, the nature of the collaboration with local teacher preparation programs has changed. The representation from the teacher preparation programs includes University of the Pacific (UOP), local National University, local Brandman University, CSU Stanislaus, Humphrey's College and Teachers College of San Joaquin.  Additionally, other local induction programs attend and participate in this collaboration.  Both induction program and IHE representatives bring forth agenda items to facilitate and support candidates in their transition from their preliminary work to their induction work. Also at these meetings, IHE's bring forth topics and information such as updates on the Teaching Performance Assessment (TPA), course content updates, etc.  This NVC forum is also where the induction program shares program revisions with the IHE counterparts.  Professional development opportunities are also shared at these meetings.
