Annually, SCOE offers its employees an educational scholarship for the purpose of professional growth at SCOE. For those of you taking courses or interested in professional development opportunities, I hope you will consider this scholarship to support your educational endeavors.

APPLICATION DEADLINE is March 16, 2026.  Scholarship awards will be announced in April and will be awarded during the May Stanislaus County Board Meeting.

The amount of each scholarship will be $300. A minimum of two (2) scholarships will be awarded, one for a classified staff member and one for a certificated/management staff member.

CRITERIA TO APPLY:
• Must be permanent SCOE employee and employed a minimum of one (1) year
• Scholarships will be awarded for the purpose of professional growth at SCOE or for employees who wish to complete coursework, which would be applied towards an undergraduate or graduate degree.
• Employees may be a recipient up to two times
• Briefly describing your career goals and your plans for furthering your education. How will the scholarship money help you? (Attach one typed page

REQUIRED ATTACHMENTS:

1. One letter of recommendation.
2. Proof of enrollment or description of interested coursework/training.

The Children of SCOE Employees Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior (12th grade) who is a child of a permanent employee of the Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE).
An Advisory Committee, appointed by the Stanislaus County Superintendent of Schools, will select the scholarship recipient(s). The amount of the scholarship will be in the amount of $500. A minimum of one (1) scholarship will be offered each year.

Application deadline is March 16, 2026. Scholarships will be announced in April and will be awarded during the May Stanislaus County Board Meeting.

CRITERIA TO APPLY
1. Graduating high school senior who is a child of a permanent employee with a minimum of (1) year of service at the Stanislaus County Office of Education.
2. Students who earned a 2.5 GPA during their sophomore and junior years.
3. The recipient will be expected to attend a community college, university, or vocational-technical institute.
4. Demonstrated leadership, evidence of participation in school activities, good citizenship, and show a potential for post-secondary study.

REQUIRED ATTACHMENTS:
a. An autobiographical essay, including extra-curricular activities and future plans.
b. Two (2) letters of character reference.
c. Transcripts to verify grade point average from the sophomore and junior year.

The John B. Allard Scholarship will be awarded to a senior student who plans a career in education. ONLY APPLICANTS PURSUING A CAREER IN EDUCATION (i.e., teaching, administration, instructional aide, etc.) WILL BE CONSIDERED.

The recipient will be expected to attend either a two- or a four-year college or university. The criteria for qualification are a 2.8 grade point average during the sophomore and junior years and demonstrated leadership and participation in school activities.

Application deadline is March 16, 2026. Scholarships will be announced the first week of May.

Criteria and Scholarship Information:

1. The Scholarship Advisory Committee will annually award the scholarship.
2. The amount of the scholarship will be $300.
3. Scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors in high schools throughout Stanislaus County.
4. A minimum of one scholarship will be offered each year. The number will increase as funds become available.

John and Julie Thurman Agricultural $300 Scholarship will be awarded to one outstanding senior in Stanislaus County and one in Merced County who plans to continue his or her education in agriculture.

Application deadline for students will be March 16, 2026. The scholarship will be announced the first week in May.

A scholarship committee, selected by the County Superintendents of Schools office of both Stanislaus and Merced, shall select recipients of the scholarships and make such awards. The committee shall select the most highly qualified students from the total number of applicants from Stanislaus and Merced Counties.

CRITERIA TO APPLY:
1. Graduating students from a high school in Stanislaus County or Merced County are eligible to apply.
2. Demonstrated an interest in a career in agriculture through his or her course of study and extracurricular activities.
3. Recipients shall plan to attend either a two- or a four-year college or university as a full-time student and pursue a major course of study in agriculture or related subject matter.
4. Earned a 2.8 grade point average (GPA) during their sophomore and junior years.

a) Autobiographical essay (limit essay to a maximum of 2 pages) – including, but not limited to, a review of high school academic performance, involvement in extracurricular activities, and future goals as they relate to a career in agriculture.
b) Three letters of character references.
c) Transcript from sophomore and junior year to verify GPA. The Stanislaus County Scholarship Advisory Committee is pleased to announce that the John B. Allard scholarship will be made available to a graduating senior who qualifies.

The Bill and Bertha Scheuber Vocational Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 is open to graduating senior from a Stanislaus County high school planning to attend a four year institution, community college, or vocational/technical school. The applicant must be planning a career in one of the major vocational areas of agriculture, business, health, home economics, industrial technology, or a related area.

Applications must be received by March 16, 2026.
