Financial Systems

This training session is designed to give you an overview of the basics of the Quintessential School Systems (QSS) software program. In particular, it will focus on:

• Logging in (your Quintessential School Systems ID and password) and logging out safely & securely
• The Tree View and menus available to you
• Selecting districts and fiscal years (if applicable)
• The Job Menu, used to run reports & data processes
• The Quintessential School Systems (QSS) Print Manager, from which you will print reports and results of processes
• Exporting reports to other formats, such as PDF or Microsoft Excel
• Using Download Presets to manipulate the data in your reports and extract particular fields or areas
• An overview of the basic financial reports, allowing you to see account activity at-a-glance, and a typical Download Preset that may be utilized

Prerequisites for attending this class:

• Intro to Quintessential School Systems (QSS) & Print Manager
• Basic knowledge and understanding of MS Excel

In this class, we will cover:

• Creating Download Preset in the Quintessential School Systems (QSS) Print Manager
• Downloading data to Excel (single and stacked reports)
• Sorting, subtotaling and filtering data
• Creating, formatting and updating PivotTables

Learn how to create data files from various modules within Quintessential School Systems (QSS) .

We will cover:

• Retrieving and using the preset report templates in the Human Resources Report/Job Selector Module 
• Example templates for particular applications - Customizing field and employee selection
• Retrieving, downloading and exporting these reports using the Print Manager module
• Preset Download Definitions available in the Personnel Downloader Module
• Creating your own Download Definition
• The Download and Field Selection settings to customize output
• Creating new Download Data in either a new dataset or appending to an existing set
• Exporting the output generated effectively
• Use of categories to influence record inclusion/exclusion
• Setting up and processing lists to extract within the Human Resources Query Module
