Many times when working with youth we realize that the challenges and stressors they face are often worsened when there appears to be a communication skill deficit. When communication skills are improved, these same youth are able to communicate with others, allowing themselves to be heard and understood, as well as creating opportunity for enhanced relations. This workshop will introduce general communication skills that can assist youth in healthier ways to manage their various life stressors while strengthening relations.
This workshop is intended for anyone working closely with teens and/or their family, including educators, counselors, administrators, school staff and community-based organizations that serve youth.
Our trainer, Jennifer Johnson, LCSW is a local mental health therapist as well as an instructor at CSU Stanislaus where she teaches in the MSW program.
