How to Get More from Your Adopted Curriculum's Close Reading Lessons (grades 3-6)

Location: Stanislaus County Office of Education
Date: September 4, 2018
Time: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Hosted by: ISS Administration

Close reading is the end result of strategies that help students to overcome issues of text complexity so that they make meaning of their reading.  Even though your instructional program now includes close reading lessons, understanding the process will help you to focus your instruction and get more out of those lessons.

 In this workshop, teachers will:

  • Learn strategies to make your close reading lessons even more powerful
  • Understand how your program’s close reading lessons are structured
  • Understand the close reading process and how to determine what makes a text complex
