VCHS is an Early College High School in partnership between the Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE) and Modesto Junior College (MJC). VCHS provides a personalized and innovative public school option for 9th through 12th-grade students residing in or near Stanislaus County. VCHS staff collaborate with parents and community members to nurture educational excellence and character development through high expectations and rigorous standards-based academic coursework. VCHS offers individual learning and classroom settings, relevant career technical skills and performance-based projects at school and in the community, and opportunities for motivated students to earn dual high school and college credits concurrently at no tuition cost to their families.
VCHS provides parents and students the options of classroom/hybrid sessions and independent learning. Through our close relationship with Modesto Junior College and with our support team at school, students can earn college credits, a degree, or a certificate at the same time they attend high school. The school also offers many electives, including theater arts, Spanish, music appreciation, robotics, video game design, computer technology, and school leadership/government. Multiple student clubs are organized on campus. The award-winning VCHS program is a recipient of the 2015 California Gold Ribbon and multiple national honors.
