Deaf and Hard of Hearing 101

Demystify an audiogram by defining the different levels and types of hearing loss. Exploring amplification options and tips/tricks for working with deaf and hard of hearing students. The referral and assessment process. Continuum of services. Communication options - American Sign Language, Total Communication and Auditory/Oral. Learn some functional signs for any classroom. The role of an interpreter and how to work with a provider (an another adult) in your room.
