Student: Jordan Hansbury, John F. Kennedy School
Tami Cervantes, Principal
John F. Kennedy School is a public school serving special education students from all districts within Stanislaus County. We are very proud of our program and our ability to provide an educationally conducive environment that facilitates independence for our students. One of the programs that we support is the Stanislaus County Office of Education's Destination Graduation Initiative. Among many other supports, the County Office of Education supplies a variety of schools with lending libraries. JFK students support that program by labeling the books based on reading level, preparing the books so they are ready to be checked out by students, and packaging the books to be delivered to various school sites. Jordan Hansbury, a senior at JFK, has been instrumental in the success of our partnership. Jordan applied, was interviewed, and accepted the position of project manager for the book venture. Jordan, as the project manager, has learned that he is a valuable member of the working community and that his efforts can translate to a lifetime of accomplishment and purpose.
